Rooted In Our Community

At Raices Del Canal we are dedicated to building an equitable future in the Canal neighborhood, San Rafael, and Marin County by providing Latino youth and families access to the community programs they need to overcome barriers and thrive!

Our Programs

Literacy & Academic Support

Our after-school literacy program provides students in our community with a safe, supportive space to enhance their reading skills and academic success.

Mental Health Support

We provide Latino mothers in our community with culturally sensitive mental health education led by Raices Del Canal staff to heal the mental health of Latino mothers in our community.

Environmental Justice

Empowering Latino youth and families through hands-on projects in climate justice, urban gardening, leadership development, and environmental education.

Community Power Program

Raíces Del Canal’s initiative to empower Latino youth and families through leadership development, community organizing, and advocacy. This program fosters civic engagement, uplifts community voices, and promotes social and environmental justice.

Community Art

Our weekly art class delivered by our partner, TeamWorks Art Director, Katya Mcculloch. Through the creation of art, youth are able to express themselves and explore their creativity in a welcoming and supportive artistic environment.
